Pixie is said to be a sport from Bloodgood. Has more deeply cut lobes than Bloodgood and stays around 6 feet tall. Vigorous when young, slowing to become a dense, round topped bushy shape.
Leaves emerge bright pink-red and become deep red lasting well into late summer. Under leaf surface is a contrasting bronze-green. Turns fiery scarlet in fall. Leaves are deeply divided.
